Thank you for helping us contain the spread of illness on campus. Our efforts to help those who are sick recover and keep others in our community healthy are having the desired effect. Sykes Wellness Center has seen a decrease in demand, as many students who are sick have gone home. The team in Sykes and house counselors will continue to check in with sick students who remain in the dorms.
Aside from classes, which remain cancelled Friday, students who are healthy should take part in their normal activities on Friday and over the weekend. If there are changes to previously scheduled activities, students will hear from their coach or adult leader directly.
If your child is not well enough to return to classes on Monday, please call or email Sykes (978-749-4455 sykeswellness@andover.edu).
We look forward to a return to classes and full campus activities on Monday.

Course Requests for Spring Term |
Students will prepare and submit course requests for Term 3 between January 29 and February 8. Each student will work with their advisor to determine remaining diploma requirements, which of their current courses or sequences will continue in spring, and what space they might have to choose electives. Students should have conversations with adults, including their parents/guardians, to consider what the spring might look like in big-picture terms, taking into account sports commitments, extracurricular activities, family responsibilities, and their own health and well-being.

In light of classes being cancelled due to campus illnesses, our Senior Soloist Concert will be rescheduled.
However, did you know the Department of Music has a YouTube Channel where you can watch student performances? Check out last week’s student recital.

The Oliver Wendell Holmes Library (OWHL), the OWHL Student Advisory Board, and faculty and staff across campus will host a live TEDx event on Saturday, April 27, in Tang Theatre. The theme for TEDx Phillips Academy is “The New Normal: Youth Voices in a Fractured Age.” This theme should lightly guide applicants but is meant to be loosely interpreted and unpacked. We want to hear unique, thought-provoking, and inspiring ideas from a diverse group of students across our campus.
TEDx Phillips Academy is open to all PA students. Applications are due by 10 p.m. on Friday, February 9. For more information, visit OWHL TEDx_Phillips Academy Libguide.
