Theatre & Dance Presents ’73: A Golden Celebration of Movement |
The Department of Theatre and Dance’s winter term dance production,
’73, is an ode to the 1973 merger of Abbot and Phillips academies. Among many elements of that momentous school year, this show seeks to celebrate the contribution of Abbot Academy’s dance program, which helped to lay the groundwork for the rich performance offerings PA has today. The show features six faculty works—including jazz, contemporary, classical, and modern dance themes— that are set to music of The Temptations, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Roberta Flack. Take a peek into 1973 with us!
- Friday, February 9, at 8:30 p.m.
- Saturday, February 10, at 3 p.m. & 7 p.m.
Venue: Cristina A. Rubio Dance Studio, Abbot Academy Dance Suite, Pan Athletic Center (third floor).
This event is first-come-first-served seating. We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to showtime to secure your seat for the show. All persons in your party must be present to claim their seat—there is no saving seats and no late seating. Families of students involved in the production and campus adults who come to see the show can check in with the House Manager to receive priority seating.
