Tell Us How We’re Doing
In the fall of 2009, when we launched the Parent Bulletin, our goal was to offer parents quick, timely information about student life and events at Phillips Academy. Over the past year and a half, many parents have written or talked with me at academy events about the Parent Bulletin, and it has been wonderful to hear your thoughts and suggestions. We would love more feedback about the Parent Bulletin, as well as your thoughts on the Parent Portal, Parent Connect Webinar series and the PSPA meeting topics. Please complete the survey by Monday, March 21st. After the last question on the survey, you will be instructed on how to enter a special drawing for a $100 gift certificate to the Andover Inn. (Survey responses are anonymous.)
Electronic Registration
Families of new students entering in the fall of 2010 were able to complete their enrollment agreements on-line. We are pleased that for the 2011-12 school year the academy is making the on-line enrollment process available to new and returning students. As a part of this new process, each individual parent will be invited by email to submit a separate Electronic Enrollment Agreement for their child. For this program to be effective, we need a unique email address for each parent/guardian. Over the next weeks we will contact families for which we have only one email address to ask that they identify the parent/guardian associated with that email address and to obtain a valid email address for the second parent/guardian. We recognize that this process may appear to be cumbersome; however, it allows us to verify that both parents have participated in the official enrollment process. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Mardi Gras
The academy celebrated Fat Tuesday with a very special Mardi Gras dinner sponsored by the team at Paresky Commons. The event provided students and faculty a welcomed break from end-of-term assessments, papers and projects. The community feasted on crawfish, blackened catfish, hushpuppies and collard greens, topped off with a traditional king cake. Boston’s Hot Tamales Brass Band kept the party going throughout dinner. For one splendid evening, we were all New Orleanians…even our premier “Wokery” chef Waldy (right). Laissez Les Bon Temps Roullez!
