Commencement Update and What to Bring
As noted in an email sent to the Class of 2021 last night, we recommend that seniors bring clothing for the possibility of an in-person Commencement in June—and related events such as Prom, Convocation, and Baccalaureate. Commencement is one of Phillips Academy’s most formal ceremonies. Students wear attire that honors the significance and specialness of the day. Casual attire, including baseball caps, is not recommended. View photos from previous commencements here.
We very much hope to be able to host Commencement exercises and related events to celebrate all of our seniors in person. Precisely how and if we can have families in attendance is still unclear. Head of School Raynard Kington has appointed a Commencement Committee to explore options for having a Commencement ceremony and to create a series of events that honor and celebrate the Class of 2021 while adhering to public health guidelines. We will share updates soon and will also establish a webpage dedicated to celebrations of the Class of 2021. If you have questions, please email Jenny Savino P’21, ’24, director of Alumni Engagement.
