As we begin a new term, students are encouraged to review Andover’s academic integrity policies in the Course of Study, as well as any information related to academic integrity that instructors provide in their course syllabi. While each student is responsible for adhering to the rules and guidelines governing academic integrity, there are a few ways parents/guardians can help:
|
|
|
-
Please wait until your child has submitted an assignment before discussing it, reading it, looking at it, listening to it, etc. Every idea, piece of data, word, punctuation mark, etc., must be the student’s own. Students may not receive help on any assignment from family, friends, tutors, or the internet, including via large language models such as Chat GPT, except as part of peer-editing and workshopping in class or as an explicit part of an assignment.
-
If your child is uncertain about the parameters of an assignment or is feeling overwhelmed, please encourage them to contact their teachers for help, which may include requesting an extension. It is always better to receive a lower grade on an assignment or receive no credit for completing it than to violate the Academy’s rules regarding academic integrity. Throughout the year, all students have access to a range of great resources, including their teachers, who are available during conference periods and, possibly, other times; the Academic Skills Center, located in Pearson Hall; the evening Writing Center, located in the library; and the Math/Science Center, located in the Gelb Science Center.
-
Please note that, as the Course of Study states, each student is the only person permitted to use the student’s Phillips Academy credentials. No one else, including parents/guardians, may access a student’s Phillips Academy email, PAnet, or Canvas sites.

From the Registrar’s Office
|
PA transcripts for summer programs: If your student needs a PA transcript for summer program applications, please have them email the Registrar’s Office well in advance. Reminder: Official transcripts must be sent directly from the Registrar’s Office to the organization requesting it. Your student can download a copy of their unofficial transcript via BlueLink.
Verification of enrollment letters: Families request verification of enrollment letters throughout the school year for various reasons. Please email the Registrar’s Office to obtain a letter.
RMV requirements for learner’s permits/driver’s licenses: The Registry of Motor Vehicles in Massachusetts requires two forms of identification for students obtaining their Learner’s Permit/Driver’s License. Our office provides a verification of enrollment letter and copy of your student’s unofficial transcript. Some states have a form that simply needs a signature and/or school seal. If you need assistance with this process, please email the Registrar’s Office.
Working permits/papers: Andover does not provide working permits. If your student needs a working permit, they should contact their local public high school’s guidance office. Questions? Email the Registrar’s Office.

Storage Option for Boarding Students |
Each year, Phillips Academy partners with Collegeboxes to provide a solution for boarders who need to store their items over the summer. Collegeboxes will pick up items, place them in storage, and deliver them to your child’s 2025–2026 dorm room just before the beginning of the school year. Deliveries to college or the student’s home are also possible. There are costs associated with this service. NOTE: Student belongings cannot remain on campus over the summer.
Please refer to this document for details and answers to commonly asked questions. More questions? Contact Claudia Scofield in the Dean of Students Office by email or call 978-749-4124.

Senior Prom: PA’s Senior Prom is scheduled for Friday, May 30. Prom tickets are $165 per person; this ticket includes transportation, dinner, and entertainment for the evening. Financial aid is available for prom tickets; please email the Financial Aid Office for more information. Details on how students can purchase prom tickets will be shared in the weeks ahead. Please note that the prom is exclusively for PA seniors; guests or dates from other grades or outside the Academy are not permitted.
To streamline preparations, we have partnered with Russo Tux & Formal Wear, who will handle tuxedo/suit fittings and rentals. We also work with a local florist, who will offer wristlets and boutonnieres. Although not mandatory, using these vendors simplifies the process, as they deliver to campus and accept major credit cards.
Class Rings: You can still purchase a class ring for your senior through our vendor, Herff Jones. Visit the Herff Jones website for more information or email our ring vendor, Mike McCann.
2025 Commencement: We look forward to welcoming the families of the Class of 2025 to celebrate Commencement on June 1—and to Commencement-related events beginning May 30. For a complete schedule of events and FAQs to help you plan ahead, please visit the Commencement webpage.
