Virtual “Ask the Counselor” Session

Navigating Spring Transitions: Join Laura Stamboni, LICSW, licensed mental health counselor at the Sykes Wellness Center, Monday, May 4, at 7 p.m. for a virtual “Ask the Counselor” session. Attendees will learn how they can support their students through end-of-year and summer transitions. Register for the "Ask the Counselor" session.

Join us next week on Wednesday, May 6, at noon for our final webinar of the school year. Learn about the advising process, course selection across grade levels, and how advisors help students build balanced schedules, explore interests, and meet graduation requirements. Register for the webinar.

Volunteer to Be a Parent Welcome Ambassador 

Help us warmly welcome new families to Andover! As a welcome ambassador, you will be asked to:

  • Connect with a small group of new parents by phone or email this summer
  • Use provided outreach templates and tips to guide your conversations

Sign up to become a Welcome Ambassador by Friday, May 8. Questions? Email Meaghan Reilly, assistant director of Family Giving. If you signed up in February, you do not need to resubmit.

Senior Prom: Tickets, Flowers, & Tuxedo Rental

Seniors received an email from the Student Activities Office this week with important prom information.

  • Prom Ticket: Tickets are now on sale in the Dean of Student’s Office. Each ticket is $165 and includes dinner, entertainment, and coach bus transportation. Financial aid is available.
  • Flowers: Welcome to Floristry will be in Paresky Commons tomorrow, Friday, May 1, during lunch. Seniors can order corsages, boutonnieres, headbands, and pocket squares.
  • Tuxedo Rentals: A tuxedo rental vendor will be on campus Monday, May 4 and Monday, May 11 in Paresky Commons during lunch. Rentals cost $200, and tuxedos will be delivered to campus before prom.

The Phillipian Commencement Issue

The Phillipian—Phillips Academy's student newspaper—will publish its annual 75+ page Commencement issue the weekend of May 30–June 1. You can pre-order copies at a discounted rate or purchase a custom commemorative page to celebrate your senior, an opportunity that nearly 100 families chose last year. We invite parents to submit nominations for Class of 2028 and Class of 2030 parent representative positions. Representatives support class events and activities throughout the school year. 

Upcoming Events

  • CCO Senior Student Panel on Navigating the College Application Process—Tuesday, May 12, from 5:30–6:15 p.m., in Kemper Auditorium. Seniors will share their college application experiences and the lessons they learned along the way.  
  • PSPA Annual Meeting—Tuesday, May 12, from 6:30–7:30 p.m., in the Underwood Room, with a live Zoom option. All parents and guardians are encouraged to participate, especially as we introduce the new board slate. 

Campus Closet

Shop on Campus or Online: Stop by the lower level of George Washington Hall on Friday, May 1 from 1 to 5 p.m. or shop online. We offer free delivery on campus!

Call for Crew Members! Parent volunteers are encouraged to sign up for a Campus Closet shift in May.

Hudson Guild Non Sibi Project with Alexander G. Cao ’16 and Garth Williams ’97

Join us and help volunteer at Hudson Guild Fest, where families can enjoy a day of fun while learning about resources available in the area. Volunteers will assist with check-in, activity stations, food distribution, raffles, and more! This is a family-friendly project, and children of all ages may participate!

Join us on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire for this family-friendly non sibi project! Volunteers will help the Lake Winnipesaukee Sailing Association (LWSA) open the center for the summer season.
