Closed Weekend in September |
Returning families, please note that the first weekend of the 2024–2025 school year is a “closed weekend.” That means no day or overnight excuses will be granted from Friday, September 6, through Sunday, September 8. During this time, students will engage in community-building activities to promote social connections and set the tone for the new school year. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Please email the Dean of Students Office with questions or for further information.

As summer vacation approaches, lost and found items from across campus—there are lots of them!—will be collected, sorted, organized, and displayed. PA community members can stop by the Dean of Students Office (lower level of George Washington Hall) between Tuesday, May 28, and Friday, May 31 (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), to look for lost items. Items not claimed (except those labeled with a student’s name) will be donated to a local charity and shared with those in need.

Department of Music End-of-Year Reminders |
Music Rentals, Lockers, Keys & Instruments: All rental instruments must be returned by Friday, May 24. (Please note that instrument rentals do not automatically extend over the summer. If your student is interested in a summer rental, they must email Jessica McCormack, music department coordinator, no later than tomorrow, Friday, May 17, to obtain approval.) Students are required to clean out their music and Rock Room lockers before they leave campus. No instruments, music, etc., may be left in Graves Hall over the summer.
Clift Record Library: The Term 3 deadline for returning items is Friday, May 24. No recordings may be kept over the summer. Students should visit the circulation desk or use the online NOBLE system to check the status of their Clift Record Library account. The library will close for the term on Friday, May 31, at 5 p.m.

|
If you preordered a Pot Pourri, please remind your student to pick up their copy during lunch periods in the lobby of Paresky Commons or swing by the Student Activities office in the lower level of Paresky. Yearbooks will not be shipped home. For those who didn’t preorder but would like a yearbook, we’ve got plenty of extras available. Simply be sure your student has $125 in their BlueCard account and have them drop by Student Activities to make a purchase.

Summer Storage Boxes Pick-Up Times |
Collegeboxes will retrieve student items on Wednesday, May 29, Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31. The moving teams begin early in the morning, so it is imperative that students be packed up and ready by 7 a.m. on their scheduled pick-up day. When students are not ready, the movers are forced to make an additional trip back to that dorm. This slows down their progress and requires extra hours of work.
Students are very busy that last week, so please encourage your student to begin preparing now. The first batch of boxes was delivered last Thursday, so those students should begin packing. If a student needs a box or two until their shipment arrives, the Dean of Students Office has some available. If your student is not ready on their pick-up day, extra charges might be applied to their Collegeboxes account.
Important Collegeboxes Dates:
|
- Pickups begin at 7 a.m. on:
- Wednesday, May 29—for ALL Students
- Thursday, May 30—for ALL Students
- Friday, May 31—ONLY for SENIORS and those participating in Commencement
- Monday, May 20—Last day to sign up AND still receive a supply kit.
- Thursday, May 23—Final delivery of ordered supply kits.
-
Friday, May 24—DEADLINE to sign up for storage BUT too late for a supply kit. Student must purchase/find boxes. Check with the Dean of Students Office.

Theatre & Dance Presents Pathways |
|
|
|
Pathways is an original work centered on the questions “Where are you going?” and “How will you get there?” Exploring social and emotional themes of adolescent development, students have created a work depicting their individual journey and shared human experiences.
Utilizing a variety of artistic modalities and through the use of abstract movement, music, and intentional dialogue, students express the commonalities and differences on the path toward growth.
|
|
|
Presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance, this production will also travel to Scotland and be performed live at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2024 as part of the Academy’s Performing in the World program.
|
- Saturday, May 18, at 8:30 p.m. (preview performance)
- Saturday, May 25, at 8 p.m.
|
Venue: Tang Theatre, George Washington Hall

These shows are first-come-first-served seating. We recommend arriving 30 minutes prior to showtime to secure your seat for the show.
