Students should visit the circulation desk or use the online NOBLE system to check the status of their Clift Record Library account. The library will close for the term on Friday, May 31, at 5 p.m.
CLAIM MAIL & PACKAGES: Your student must pick up their mail and packages in George Washington Hall before heading home—or by Monday, June 3.
|
-
On Tuesday, June 4, all mailboxes will be emptied. REMAINING items that are first-class or priority mail will be returned to the senders when possible.
- Mail Services will only forward INCOMING first-class/priority mail as follows:
-
For SENIORS/GRADUATES—through July 1 to your home address. Mail received after that date will be returned to the senders.
- For RETURNING STUDENTS—mail received will be held and placed in your student’s mailbox.
- Items that are not first-class/priority mail will be discarded.
- Bank or credit card statements will not be forwarded, as this information is available online.
- All unclaimed packages remaining at Mail Services or in dorms at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 3, will be considered abandoned property.
- All packages
received after Monday, June 3, will be returned to the sender when possible. Any items that cannot be returned will be discarded or donated.
|
Parents/Guardians of Graduates: It is your graduate’s responsibility to notify people and businesses of their change of address. They should notify college, family, friends, cell phone carrier, insurance providers, credit card companies, and any other persons or businesses that have been sending items to them at Andover. Be sure to change DEFAULT shipping addresses with online merchants like Amazon.
Parents/Guardians of Returning Students: Andover will begin accepting packages for the 2024–2025 school year on Monday, August 19. Do not send items to Andover prior to this date; they will be refused and returned to the sender.
DORM CLEANUP: It is imperative that students leave their dorm rooms as they found them in the fall—clean, organized, and containing only school items. Your student should:
|
- REMOVE all personal items from room, including rugs, furniture, posters, bins, and closet organizers.
- RETURN all standard PA furniture BACK to its original location (sometimes it gets moved).
- Clean and vacuum.
- Remove trash and recycling; place it in designated outdoor bins.
- Remove, donate, or discard all personal items from the bathroom, laundry room, common area, and kitchen, and empty refrigerator.
|
LOST & FOUND OPEN HOUSE: As summer vacation approaches, lost and found items from across campus—there are lots of them!—will be collected, sorted, organized, and displayed. PA community members can stop by the Dean of Students Office (lower level of George Washington Hall) between Tuesday, May 28, and Friday, May 31 (from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.), to look for lost items. Items not claimed (except those labeled with a student’s name) will be donated to a local charity and shared with those in need.

Returning families, please note that the first weekend of the 2024–2025 school year is a “closed weekend.” That means no day or overnight excuses will be granted from Friday, September 6, through Sunday, September 8. During this time, students will engage in community-building activities to promote social connections and set the tone for the new school year. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Please email the Dean of Students Office with questions or for further information.

Summer Storage Boxes Pick-Up Times |
Collegeboxes will retrieve student items on Wednesday, May 29, Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31. The moving teams begin early in the morning, so it is imperative that students be packed up and ready by 7 a.m. on their scheduled pick-up day. When students are not ready, the movers are forced to make an additional trip back to that dorm. This slows down their progress and requires extra hours of work.
It will get very busy next week, so please encourage your student to begin preparing now. The first batch of boxes was delivered last Thursday, so those students should begin packing. If a student needs a box or two until their shipment arrives, the Dean of Students Office has some available. If your student is not ready on their pick-up day, extra charges might be applied to their Collegeboxes account.
Important Collegeboxes Dates:

Last Chance for Yearbooks! |
|
|
If you preordered a Pot Pourri, please remind your student to pick up their copy during lunch periods in the lobby of Paresky Commons or swing by the Student Activities office in the lower level of Paresky. Yearbooks will not be shipped home. For those who didn’t preorder but would like a yearbook, we’ve got plenty of extras available. Simply be sure your student has $125 in their BlueCard account and have them drop by Student Activities to make a purchase.

BLUECARD BALANCES: BlueCard funds for seniors remain in their accounts until June 10. At that time, accounts are deactivated and any funds are removed. Balances totaling $10 or more will be credited to the student billing account. The bursar will apply the money toward any outstanding expenses. The remainder will be refunded to you later in the summer along with your breakage deposit and any other credits on the account. If a sibling is attending Phillips Academy, the balance or credits will be transferred to their student account. Balances totaling less than $10 will not be refunded since the cost of processing these refunds exceeds the refund amount. Email the BlueCard Office or call 978-749-4124 with any questions.
LAST CALL! RECEPTION FOR SENIOR FAMILIES: Following the pre-prom procession and the boarding of buses to Boston, parents, guardians, and grandparents of seniors are invited to a reception in the Pan Athletic Center from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 31. We hope you will join us for this casual and fun celebratory event to thank you for being such amazing members of the PA community! Please RSVP by Monday, May 27.
PREORDER THE PHILLIPIAN COMMENCEMENT ISSUE: The Phillipian, PA’s student newspaper, will publish its annual Commencement issue the weekend of May 31. This special longer version of the weekly newspaper captures the major events of the past school year and will be sold during Commencement Weekend. If you are interested in preordering the paper at a lower price, please use this link by Wednesday, May 29.
CONTINUE THE TRADITION OF GRATITUDE: Parents and guardians of seniors are invited to continue the tradition of submitting notes of appreciation to faculty and staff members who have had a meaningful impact on their child’s Andover experience. Each note will be shared with the recipient and the dean of faculty this summer.
To participate, please save each note as a separate PDF file (if possible) and email notes to this special address by Friday, June 28. Please be sure to include the first and last name of the person you are writing about in your email.
COMMENCEMENT: We are excited to welcome the families of seniors to campus to celebrate Commencement. Students received their Commencement-related tickets in their mailboxes on Wednesday, May 29. If your student needed to return any athletic equipment, library books, electronic equipment, or musical instruments, they should follow the instructions in their mailbox on removing the ticket hold.
For a complete schedule of events and FAQs, please visit the Commencement webpage. More questions? Contact Naomi Mashburn ’08 in the Office of Alumni Engagement via email or call 978-749-4225.
