As we head into fall, student workloads are building. There will be emotional ups and downs in classes and in daily life both on and off campus. We hope your student is practicing patience, getting a good night’s sleep, having faith in their academic journey—and asking an instructor or other campus adult for help when they need it. Click here to see some of the many resources the Academy offers to support your student.
Some students have never had to manage a calendar, schedule their own appointments, or plan their own weekend schedules. They are making great strides in these important skills!

Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic |
A student vaccination clinic for both seasonal influenza (flu) and COVID-19 will be held Thursday, October 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The newest COVID-19 booster was approved earlier this month. Both vaccines are strongly recommended but will not be required at this time. We will communicate if data and public health guidance suggest we need to reconsider in the future.
|
-
If you would like your student to receive the flu vaccine on October 12, they will need a Flu Consent form on file at the wellness center. Please visit the Sykes Wellness Center Health Portal, log in, and click the Forms tab.
- If your child signs up for the COVID-19 vaccine (see below), we will email you a consent form.
|
Please encourage your student to sign up for a time slot for their flu vaccine and a separate appointment for their COVID-19 vaccine by logging into the Sykes Wellness Center Health Portal.
If your child receives/has received a flu or COVID-19 vaccine elsewhere, please be sure to upload documentation to the portal.

Deposits to Your Student’s BlueCard |
The BlueCard payment processor is still unavailable. We have made some progress, but online deposits to your child’s BlueCard are still not possible. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and offer our sincere apologies.
If your child needs funds on their BlueCard, cash deposits are being accepted. Students should visit Ms. Scofield in the Dean of Students Office, located in the basement of George Washington Hall. Questions? Email the BlueCard Office or call 978-749-4124.
