Overnight Excuses and Looking Ahead
As a reminder, fully vaccinated boarding students may request day and overnight excuses. Leaves will be approved for:
- Club sport commitments
- Auditions
- Music/dance/theatre rehearsals
- Time-sensitive events
Day Excuse events typically include college visits and family events. Overnight Excuses may be issued for approved college visits and significant family events.
Overnight Leaves require the student to create a leave request in REACH Boarding. The student initiates the leave request, which requires approval from multiple individuals before it is fully approved. Parents are a key part of the approval process. You will receive an email from “no-reply@reachboarding.com.” The email will contain detailed information about the leave, including where the student is going, dates, times, and modes of transportation. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the email and click either Approve Request or Decline Request. If you approve the request, it goes to either the house counselor or cluster dean for final approval.
Visiting Campus: Families may visit campus. Individuals must mask indoors. Families cannot enter buildings where students are unmasked (dorms and Paresky Commons) but may visit other buildings such as the Snyder Center, the rink, the Addison Gallery, etc. You can also take your student off campus. The student would need to wear a mask indoors (restaurants, movies, stores, etc.)
We continue to review campus and community Covid data and how it influences our policies. We are hopeful that soon we will be able to allow additional overnight leaves.

From the Comptroller’s Office
Please be sure to review your student’s account on FACTS, our online student billing portal, to ensure your account is current. Your balance may include additional fall charges, payments, and credits. If you elected a two-payment plan, please note that all outstanding tuition balances are due in full by Monday, November 15. If you have already reviewed your statement and taken appropriate actions, thank you. If your student still has an outstanding balance due, please remit your payment through the FACTS system so that your student’s account can be cleared for winter term.
For your convenience, you can make payments on the FACTS portal by using your bank account or credit card (a 2.85% convenience fee is applied for credit card payments). New this year, FACTS has partnered with Western Union to allow international payments to be made directly on the FACTS site. Questions? Please email Tina Rioux, bursar.
