From the Dean of Studies Office |
Mid-point grades and progress reports will be posted on The Hive on Wednesday, October 18. At the Term 1 (fall) mid-point, all students will receive brief progress reports from each of their instructors. Reports will be written directly to the student in the second person, and they will be viewable by both students and families.
|
The guidance and feedback contained in the mid-point reports is intended to provide advice for students at a time in the term when they can still act on teachers’ suggestions for improvement. Students will hear from instructors in writing again at the end of Term 1 and at the end of Term 3 (spring term).
October Schedule Changes:
|
- Monday, October 9: Students will follow a Wednesday schedule.
-
Wednesday, October 11: No classes due to PSAT testing. (Community Engagement programs and sports will meet as usual.)
- Tuesday (Oct. 10), Thursday (Oct. 12), and Friday (Oct. 13) are regular schedule days.
- Monday, October 23: No classes following Family Weekend

Flu & COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic |
A student vaccination clinic for both seasonal influenza (flu) and COVID-19 will be held Thursday, October 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The newest COVID-19 booster was approved in September. Both vaccines are strongly recommended but will not be required at this time. We will communicate if data and public health guidance suggest we need to reconsider in the future.
|
-
If you would like your student to receive the flu vaccine on October 12, they will need a Flu Consent form on file at the wellness center. Please visit the Sykes Wellness Center Health Portal, log in, and click the Forms tab.
- If your child signs up for the COVID-19 vaccine (see below), we will email you a consent form.
|
Please encourage your student to sign up for a time slot for their flu vaccine and a separate appointment for their COVID-19 vaccine by logging into the Sykes Wellness Center Health Portal.
If your child receives/has received a flu or COVID-19 vaccine elsewhere, please be sure to upload documentation to the portal.
