This is a great chance for families to discover how Andover fosters an inclusive environment for all—whether students are deeply religious, spiritual, or exploring life’s big questions—and how we support their spiritual and ethical growth within a diverse and caring community. You’ll also have the chance to meet our chaplains, who are dedicated to guiding students on their spiritual journeys. Following the general session, we will host breakout rooms with each chaplain and advisor. Families will be able to ask questions and engage in deeper discussions. Click here to register.

2024 AP Exams–Fall Registration |
Registration for AP exams is open now through Friday, November 8, at noon, and will reopen from Wednesday, February 5 through Wednesday, March 5, at noon. The exams run May 5–16.
Phillips Academy students will be sent an email from the Phillips Academy Standardized Testing Office with registration instructions. Exam fees will be paid through the Course Material Account and are processed later in the spring. This year, most AP exams will be in a digital format with students testing on their own device.
Please note that AP exams are optional and not required for college applications. Student grades and classwork are more important than AP exam scores. The exams require a significant amount of preparation and missed class time just before final assessments. Please be aware that AP exams are later in the month this year and will bump up against end of semester activities. Students who are unsure about taking AP exams should speak to a teacher or College Counselor. Students should not register for more exams than they are sure to take. For specific information on registration and exam dates and fees go to here.
Questions? Email Deb Colombo, director of Standardized Testing.

Planning for Learning in the World |
The catalogue of Learning in the World (LITW) programs for the March 2025 Spring break and summer 2025 is available on our website. There are a total of 15 faculty/staff-led offerings and numerous opportunities with a dozen affiliates to excite and inspire all participants! Whether or not LITW is in the cards for your global citizen this school year, consider speaking with your student about pursuing LITW sometime during their PA career.
Last week, students received a LITW planning worksheet that they are invited to fill out in consultation with their advisers while they are engaged in the course selection process for winter term. It provides insight and space for them to reflect on the topics of:
-
eligibility for LITW
- the “best” time to participate
- faculty/staff-led vs. affiliate programs
- School Year Abroad, and
- how to take action
Please chat with your child about their desires, ambitions, interests, and apprehensions related to LITW, and encourage them to join a program at least once while they’re at PA.
Questions? Email Mark Cutler, director of LITW.
