Mindfulness Events This Weekend
Parents are invited to participate in the 2019–2020 Mindfulness Speakers Program, a series of discussions, workshops, and daylong retreats. The program will kick off this weekend with two events led by Alexis Santos. A former Buddhist monk, Alexis has practiced in a number of meditative styles and traditions. He brings a practical, intuitive, and compassionate approach to the development of wisdom. Both events are free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged.
- Tonight: “Mindfulness in the Age of Anxiety,” 7 p.m. in Kemper Auditorium. Register here.
- Saturday, November 2: “Finding Balance Amidst Uncertainty,” a daylong workshop starting at 10 a.m. in Davis Hall (in McKeen Hall on the Abbot campus). Register here.
For more information about the series and upcoming mindfulness events, visit the Tang Institute.

Andover-Exeter Challenge Begins November 6
The Parent Fund is off to a strong start, and we hope you will join us in making a gift this year. As we gear up for the exciting Andover-Exeter athletic contests next weekend (away this year in Exeter, N.H.), the Parent Development team is inviting all parents to participate in an off-the-field competition.
The Andover-Exeter Challenge is a four-day fundraising competition with our biggest rival. How can you help us beat Exeter? Make an online gift—of any size—between noon on Wednesday, November 6, and noon on Saturday, November 9. The school with the most donors wins, and the losing school must fly the winner’s flag on their campus.
Let’s rally for Andover! Starting Wednesday, November 6, at noon, visit www.andover.edu/AEChallenge. Every gift directly benefits the Andover experience. Questions? Email Shannan Clarke, associate director of parent development.
